• Summer Camp

    Explore week-long science and math activities in conjuntion with Ann Arbor Rec&Ed and other local organizations.  Elementary and middle school children can investigate a different theme each week through hands-on and engaging fun.

All of our summer camps are offered in partnership with other local organizations, and all registration will be handled through them.  All camps are located offsite.  Please view the individual camp listings below for registration and location info.

Summer Camp

Forensics: Under the Lens (Grades 5-8)

From gathering observations at the scene, to analyzing evidence in the lab, and presenting the findings to reconstruct a crime, pre-teens will investigate and practice the skills needed to complete the work of detectives and forensic scientists.  Camp is located offsite.

It's Not Magic, It's Science (Grades 1-4)

Campers become a hybrid of Albert Einstein and Harry Houdini in this mind-bending week! Campers learn that magic tricks all have a bit of science behind them. We will use magnetism and static electricity to make objects levitate, write with invisible ink and make water defy gravity. Campers prepare all week for a spectacular magic show that they will perform for their friends and family.

Fizz, Bang, Glow (Grades 2-5)

From to fizzing reactions to colorful crystals, learn about the chemistry that happens all around us in this weeklong camp! Campers blow bubbles to explore properties of matter, build models of the world around them, and perform reactions that fizz, bang, and glow. Between experiments, hands-on activities, take-home projects, and demos - everyday will be full of fun!

Eureka! Inventing for a New Planet (Grades 2-5)

Campers embark on an adventure to another planet - and engineer and invent along the way! Using both digital and physical resources, campers tackle the design and engineering processes inventors use to generate mechanical, chemical, and digital creations. They create toys and tools that work in this strange environment and a digital story of their experiences and findings.

Science Behind the Curtain (Grades 1-5)

Learn about the science of the stage in this fun-filled week. Campers will journey through the process of putting on a puppetry show while learning the inner workings of what happens back stage. We will explore the engineering of set and prop design and the science behind lighting and sound.

River ROVing (Grades 4-6)

Explore the mysterious underwater world where robots do all the work. Become a marine biologist and build underwater ROVs to collect data about animals who live in aquatic environments. Campers develop engineering skills to monitor changes in aquatic environments and create positive impactful strategies.
